  1. SUMELA MONASTERY

Although the date of construction of the Sümela Monastery located in the Maçka district of Trabzon is not exactly known, it is believed to have been constructed between A.D. 365 and 395. At the same night, two monks saw Jesus and the Virgin Mary in the place where the Sümela Monastery is located in their dreams and built the monastery in the place where they saw them. The Sümela Monastery is a touristic place that should certainly be seen in Trabzon with its architecture and great view.

  1. TRABZON CASTLE

Trabzon Castle is located on the highest hill of the city. Built in order to prevent any attacks that may come from the sea, Trabzon Castle consists of three sections including the upper fortress, the middle fortress and the lower fortress. The castle, one side of which is surrounded by the sea and one side of which is surrounded by greens, is one of the most touristic places that should be visited in Trabzon.
