8 New Metro Lines Coming to Istanbul

Mayor Topbaş, who presented the Activity Report for the year 2015 to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Council, announced the important vision projects of his 3rd term. Topbaş gave Istanbul the good news of 8 new metros.

Mayor Topbaş, who presented the Activity Report for the year 2015 to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Council, announced the important vision projects of his 3rd term. Topbaş stated that the project phase of the Ayazağa – Istinye Metro was continuing, and that this investment would both begin and completed during this term, and that due to serious overcrowding on the coasts of both sides of the city, the project tenders for the Beşiktaş – Sarıyer and Üsküdar – Beykoz metros would also be held within 1 month. Topbaş, who also recalled that the building of the Ataköy – İkitelli and Bostancı – Dudullu metro lines were continuing, said, “We are going down to the coast in Etiler with a funicular railway. Istanbul is going towards a thousand kilometers of metro in the future.”

Sultanbeyli - Kurtköy Fast Train Metro Line Route

The lines, of which Topbaş announced the preparations, are as follows:

1)Yenidoğan-Çekmeköy-Sultanbeyli: 16,7 kilometers

2)Pendik-Kaynarca-Tuzla: 11,6 kilometers

3)Bağcılar-Kirazlı-Halkalı: 10 kilometers

4)Göztepe-Ataşehir-Ümraniye: 13 kilometers

5)Eminönü-Alibeyköy Tramvay Hattı: 10 kilometers

6)Sefaköy-Başakşehir Havaray Hattı: 15 kilometers

7)Başakşehir-Kayaşehir: 6,5 kilometers

8)Mahmutbey-Esenyurt: 17 kilometers
