Istanbul’s Longest Rail Line will be Opened by the End of the Year

Mehmet Cahit Turhan, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure; told that the railway line between Halkalı and Gebze, which is 90 percent of the construction completed, will be put into service at the end of this year.

The rail system transportation line between Gebze and Halkalı, which will be integrated with Marmaray will be put into service by the end of this year.

Minister Turhan stated that the 90-kilometer-long line was completed by 90 percent, and that the Gebze-Halkalı rail system will carry 1 million passengers per day.

The line that will be integrated with Marmaray will be a total of 43 stations and the total transportation time between Gebze and Halkalı will be 105 minutes.
