Planned to become active in August, 2013 in Zincirlikuyu district, Istanbul, Zorlu Shopping Mall has met with an influx of investors. More than 2 thousand 800 applications have been made for 180 stores.
Several famous brands are standing in the line to have their stores at the Zorlu Shopping Mall, which will include 40 cafes and restaurants, 12 movie halls and 128 stores on an area of 60 thousand sq m.
One Year’s Rent to be Paid in Advance
The rent per sq m is 250 Euros in Zorlu Shopping Mall, where a one-year-rent is asked as deposit. It has been stated that 320 people have applied for the exchange office, pharmacy and fishmonger businesses with only one place available for each. It has been explained that the owners of some famous brands put reputable people as intermediaries in order to contact Ahmet Nazif Zorlu, the owner of Zorlu Holding, while Zorlu politely refused the demands.
Avi Alkaş, owner of the famous leasing company JLL (Jones Lang Lasalle), has been assisting those who have applied to rent a store at Zorlu Shopping Mall for nearly 8 months. It has been learned Alkaş said that priority during the assessment phase would be given to applicants from companies that were famous and not involved in speculation.
Petitions to be Received First
Promotional activities have also been performed abroad in relation to the Zorlu Shopping Mall, which is expected to become an international center of attraction in Istanbul. The companies make their initial application for leasing with a petition. Then, they provide briefing to the officials of the leasing company about the business they will be running.
