Istanbul | The First Preference of Foreign Investors

GYODER has published its 3rd Quarter Indicators Report. According to the report, while a total of 936 thousand 615 residential properties were sold in Turkey between January – September 2015, it is emphasized that the figure for the same period of 2016 is 935 thousand 811. It is underlined that the ‘Union of Forces in Real Estate for a Stronger Turkey’ campaign, which was started by GYODER and Emlak Konut, had been influential in the recovery of the sector and had increased liveliness.

In the GYODER 3rd Quarter Indicators Report, where the dynamics of the real estate sector of Turkey are examined, it is emphasized that recovery had been faster than it would be possible in any other country, following social and economic predicaments which had been faced.


Inflation fallen in September

It is stated that the ‘Union of Forces in Real Estate for a Stronger Turkey’, started by GYODER and Emlak Konut after 15 July, had had a big impact in the recovery seen in the principal construction sector. It is stated in the ‘Fundamental Economic Data’ section that the inflation for the month of September, which was 7,28 percent, had fallen when compared to 2014 and 2015, and that this was a positive development in terms of the end of year targets.

In the section entitled the ‘Top 10 cities preferred by foreign nationals’, Istanbul is in first place in the first 9 months of this year, in terms of the numbers of people.

Germans take the lead

On the other hand, in the list of the ‘Top 10 countries preferring Turkey’, it can be seen that Germany is at the top of list this year – having left Saudi Arabia behind. Germany is in first place with 599 thousand square meters while Saudi Arabia is next with 564 thousand square meters. These countries are followed by Britain, Kuwait, Iraq, the Lebanon, Russia, the TRNC, Bahrain and Qatar, respectively.

In the report on ‘the numbers of residential properties sold to foreign nationals throughout Turkey’, the total surfaced area sold in the first 9 months of 2015 is 4 million 94 thousand 737 square meters and the total number of buyers is 19 thousand 572 people while in the first 9 months of 2016 these figures are 4 million 594 thousand 306 square meters and 19 thousand 605 people respectively.
