It was announced in a press conference held in Budapest that the burial place had been found on the Zigetvar (Szigetvár)  Grapes Hill, following measurements made from the air and on land.

The findings obtained during the studies of the committee comprised of Hungarian and Turkish scientists, were announced by Professor Norbert Pap.

Hungarian scientist Pap announced that traces of a small Ottoman town around the tomb had also been discovered on the hill.

A research committee had been formed several years ago in order to find the exact place of the tomb in Zigetvar, which had been turned into a shrine after the burial, but had then been lost during the years that passed.
