The Aegean Exporters’ Union (EEU) carried out 1 billion 14 million 270 thousand 528 dollars of exports in June. The figure for exports in June 2015 was 883 million 770 thousand 873 dollars. The EEU, which achieved an increase of 15 percent in June, is experiencing the joy of having surpassed the 1 billion dollar line after 20 months. The EEU has increased its exports in June, following increases also in the months of February, March, April and May, taking the series to 5 months. Sabri Ünlütürk, the Coordinator Chairman of the Aegean Exporters’ Union, said that their exports had risen by more than the average of Turkey for 5 months, and that they had surpassed the 1 billion dollar line in June. Ünlütürk said that, however, they could not experience the joy of breaking the record due to the terrorist attack at Atatürk Airport.

Ünlütürk, who recalled that Turkey had recently taken significant steps to resolve its problems with Israel and Russia, said, “The move which will ensure that we return to the old days with Russia will bring in 15 billion dollars of earnings to Turkey through the export, contracting and tourism sectors in particular. The process of normalization with Israel will also make a positive contribution to both our export and tourism sectors. Good days are awaiting Turkey.”
