Ali Dumankaya, the Chairman of the Board of directors of DKY Construction has stated that there is a need to produce 800 thousand homes a year in order to meet the existing requirements together with the regeneration needed through urban transformation.
Dumankaya also added, “As a minimum, 1 million 150 thousand homes are sold in Turkey every year. Close to 55 percent of these are second hand homes. That shows us that around 550 thousand new homes are being sold. Within this framework, 600 thousand homes need to be produced in Turkey in order to meet the needs of the essential population. The realities of urban transformation and earthquakes are well known. Under these circumstances we need to produce 800 thousand homes a year, in order to be able to specify a period of time for the transformation.”
